Charlotte Throwdown for Mental Health Awareness

Millions of Americans quietly battle mental health issues each year. A mental illness is a medical condition that disrupts a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. Just as diabetes is a disorder of the pancreas, mental illnesses are medical conditions that often result in a diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life. The Charlotte Throwdown for Mental Health Awareness aims to destigmatize these issues by encouraging open conversations and help provide treatment to those in need. Proceeds to benefit icuTalks, a Charlotte based speaking mental health organization.

This is a 2 person team event. Teams may be comprised of M/M or F/F. There are Scaled, Rx, and Masters divisions. For Masters divisions, all team members must be 45 years or older.

The Charlotte Throwdown will be held on Saturday, June 8th at the Dowd YMCA CrossFit, 400 East Morehead Street in Charlotte, NC.

The registration fee for this event is $150 per team.

Workouts will be released prior to the event.
